Sturm Leads Penn State Harrisburg at CAC Championships

Penn State Harrisburg's men's cross country competed Saturday November 1st at the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) cross country championships.

Sophomores Nick Sturm (Hamburg, Pa. / Hamburg) and Joseph Phifer (Union, N.J. / Union) finished on top for the Blue and White in today's race. Sturm came in 64th with a time of 27:16, while Phifer finished in 89th with his 28:13.

Unfortunately for Harrisburg, the mid pack finish for the top runners led to a 9th place overall finish this year.  Winning this year's conference championship was Salisbury University.  They finished just ahead of Christopher Newport who had to settle for second place.

The Lions took 9th of the ten teams competing finishing a spot ahead of Wesley College.  They are not completely finished as they will have a few runners still competing two weeks from now at the NCAA regional meet.
