Track & Field Competes at Bucknell's Bison Open and Multi

LEWISBURG, Pa. - A number of athletes from Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams were in action over the weekend at Bucknell's two-day Bison Open and Multi beginning on Friday night and wrapping up on Saturday evening. 

 

On the women's side, Tatyana Gibson earned the top finish among Division III competitors in the 800m, with her time of 2:25.84 proving strong enough for ninth place. Nofisat Aina and Layla Germain took part in the 60m, while Leah Gray expanded her sprint repertoire to include both the 200m and 400m. In addition to her effort on the track, Aina took part in the long jump as well, while Makayla Grace Weber also competed in multiple events, including the 60m hurdles, 200m, and 400m. 

 

For the men, Fife Dehinbo, Sean Hamby, Paul Netland, and Isaac Whitson all took part in numerous events. Dehinbo posted a time of 7.55 seconds in the 60m before after competing in the 200m, while Hamby ran a 24.06 in the 200m to go along with his time of 1:10.81 in the 500m. Netland turned in an effort of 8.86 seconds in the 60m hurdles and a 24.93 in the 200m, while Whitson competed in both the 60m and the triple jump. Mohammed Sakayl was one of just five runners to take part in the 1,000m, while Angad Bhullar (shot put), Sean Myron (shot put), and Greg Comlan Acoliste (weight throw) represented the Lions in the throwing events, with Bhullar finishing as the top Division III competitor in the shot with a top toss of 12.04 meters.

 

Penn State Harrisburg is set to return to action at the DIII Invitational hosted by New York University (NYU) in New York City on Friday night, Feb. 3.
