Lions Have Strong Showing At S.U. Challenge

Penn State Harrisburg's Men's and Women's Track & Field teams continued their strong 2017-18 campaign by participating in the S.U. Challenge. Facing a mix of CAC foes and Division I & II competition, the Lions showcased their abilities on the track and in the field breaking five school records along the way.

Uzoije Ukattah set a new school record in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.02 seconds. This time seeds Ukattah second in the CAC. Elsewhere on the track Kadeem Willis ran his best time of the season in the 800 Meters posting a time of 2:03.61. Jalil Clayton won the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.34 seconds.

Ashley Williams finished third in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.16 seconds. Sephora Senestant had her best showing in the 400 Meters finishing with a time of 1:06.81.

Rae Rae Taylor and Sarah Lehman put on excellent performances at the jumping pits. Taylor would set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 5.30 meters. Taylor would then take second in the triple jump, traveling 11.34 meters. Lehman would break her own school and CAC record in the triple jump traveling 11.48 meters.  This is distance ranks Lehman 13th in all of Division III.

Jalil Clayton took second in the long jump with a leap of 6.44 meters, which was his best so far this season.

Cameron Yon had another stellar day in the Shot Put and Weight Throw. Yon improved on his own school record in the Shot Put with a throw of 14.65 meters. This was the top throw at the meet and places him third in the CAC standings. Yon would also finish fourth in the Weight Throw.

Rachale Hair broke the school record in the Weight Throw with a toss of 11.11 meters.

Penn State Harrisburg will now travel to the CAC Indoor Championships on Febuary 16th and 17th at Christopher Newport University.
