Lions Continue to Improve at Paul Kaiser Classic

Shippensburg, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg took part in the Paul Kaiser Classic Saturday April 25th at Shippensburg University.  The Blue and White went face to face with multiple schools from divisions I, II, and III from all over the region.  The Lions have a lot to be proud of as they boasted numerous top finishes and personal records.

On the men's side of the action, sophomore Joe Phifer (Union, N.J. / Union) continues to lead this young Lions track & field team.  Phifer finished 13th in the 800 meter with a time of 1:56.53, which is a new personal record for himself in that event.  Charles Scheick (Douglassville, Pa. / Daniel Boone) recorded an 11th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and was the top finisher for Harrisburg in that event.  Other notable finishes for Penn State Harrisburg were Josiah Owhe (Westbury, N.Y. / Westbury) who placed 26th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.53 second and Jalen Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton) who also placed 26th in the 200 meter with a time of 22.97 seconds.

For the women, Kaitlin Gould (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) shines yet again for the Lady Lions.  Gould brought home a fourth place finish in the pole vault and a thirteenth place finish in the 400 meter dash.  Other notables for the women's track & field team were Kyla Line (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) who placed 24th in the javelin throw and Erin Goodyear (Boiling Springs, Pa. / Boiling Springs) who placed 30th in the discus throw with a distance of 28.65 meters.

Penn State Harrisburg will return to action Saturday May 2nd when they travel to York College to take part in the CAC Championships.
