Men's Tennis Sweeps Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg rolled to a decisive 9-0 victory at Misericordia in the team's penultimate match of the fall season on Friday afternoon, Oct. 4.

 

The Lions (3-1) made quick work of their MU counterparts in doubles play, with all three duos earning 8-1 victories. Sachin Venkatesh teamed with Damir Cuturic in the No. 1 outing to top Zack Hemond and Jamison Luke, Nick Rohn paired with Austin Stehman to defeat Nico Touch and Matthew McCaffrey in the second contest, and Anthony Brominski and Alex Kurtz teamed up to best Ethan Snyder and Dan Zieno in the No. 3 matchup.

 

That momentum carried over into singles action, with Venkatesh going over Hemond 6-2, 7-5 in the top match, Nick Rohn handling Jamison Luke 6-4, 6-3 in the second outing, Cuturic sweeping Touch 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 contest, Stehman rolling McCaffrey 6-0, 6-0 in the fourth pairing, Alex Rohn defeating Snyder 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 match and Orlando Pham wrapping things up with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Zieno in the sixth outing.

 

The Blue & White will close out the fall portion of their slate when they host Albright at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10.
