Men's Tennis Tops Lancaster Bible In Home Finale

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team capped the home portion of its 2018-19 season with a 6-3 victory over Lancaster Bible at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, April 18.

 

Doubles play saw the Lions (9-9) take two of three contests, with Sachin Venkatesh and Isaac George topping LBC's Luke Newberry and Keven Vallette 8-3 in the No. 1 match, while Hyun Jun Kwon and Austin Stehman picked up an 8-2 win over the Chargers' Tyler Norris and Ming Bowser in the second outing.

 

In singles play, the Blue & White added four more victories to secure the overall win. Jun Kwon moved up to the No. 1 spot and defeated Newberry 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, while George handled Norris 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 meeting. Jared Gluck picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win over Yancy Butler in the third matchup and Austin Stehman went over Bowser 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 4 showdown.

 

The Lions will wrap up the regular season when they travel to Southern Virginia on Saturday afternoon, April 20.
