Harrisburg Fall's to Gettysburg in Hilton Head

Hilton Head S.C. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team traveled all the way to South Carolina to face off against a relative close Gettysburg opponent.  The Lions forced the Bullets to fire on all cylinders, but in the end Gettysburg came out with a strong 9-0 win.

In Singles action the Blue and White's top seed Johnny Xue (Blue Hill, Maine / George Stevens Academic) and fourth seed Chris Magee (Westminster, Md. / Manchester Valley) came the closest to pulling a Lion win forcing third set tiebreakers.  Unfortunately, both men did not get the final set to fall in their favor as the Bullet's swept singles.

Gettysburg's doubles pairing were extremely strong as all three positions held Harrisburg to less than two wins.

Head Coach Becky Cecere was happy with the teams effort and progress they are getting out of the Spring break trip.  "This trip has been extremely beneficial in getting us prepared for our upcoming season in the CAC.  It has been a great experience for the team."

Penn State Harrisburg completes their fourth straight day of tennis Thursday when they face off against Ithaca.
