ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team went on the road and knocked off No. 3 St. Mary's 3-2 to secure a vital United East victory on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 25.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Penn State Harrisburg (5-1 overall, 3-0 United East) used a pair of goals from Joey Aman and a strong defensive effort to defeat No. 3 St. Mary's (8-2 overall, 2-1 United East) on Saturday afternoon.
Aman wasted little time putting the Lions on the board first when he took advantage of a bad pass deep in Seahawks territory and booted an attempt past St. Mary's goalkeeper Liam Delone-Bellsey just 62 seconds into the game.
The Blue & White took the one-score advantage into halftime and quickly doubled it after the break when Sebastian Krysztofowicz found the back of the net off an assist from Aman to make it 2-0 in the 50th minute.
The home team cut the deficit in half 10 minutes later when Isaac Ekobo found twine off a feed from Roshawn Panton with 29:28 left to play.
Things remained close until Aman struck again with less than six minutes left to play, burying his second goal of the afternoon off a find from Zach Ullum with just 5:07 remaining.
Jacob Breslauer made things interesting when he netted a marker to pull the Seahawks within one with 1:42 left but that's as close as they would get as the Lions held on for their biggest win of the young season.
