MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – With the 2018 regular season now complete, Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's soccer teams turn their attention to the postseason. Both squads will take part in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Soccer Tournaments, with first-round action set to begin this weekend.
After an impressive fall that included 14 victories, votes in the D3soccer.com Division III National Poll and a regional ranking, the men's team will continue its stellar season at St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. The Lions (14-3-4, 1-3-4 CAC) earned the #7 seed in the tourney and will take on the #2-seeded Seahawks for the second time in seven days. The Blue & White will look to avenge a loss to SMC on Oct. 20.
2018 CAC Men's Soccer Tournament
First Round - Saturday, Oct. 27
Game 1: #8 Southern Virginia at #1 Mary Washington, 1:30 p.m.
Game 2: #5 York at #4 Frostburg State, TBA
Game 3: #7 Penn State Harrisburg at #2 St. Mary's, 2 p.m.
Game 4: #6 Christopher Newport at #3 Salisbury, 2 p.m.
Semifinal Round - Wednesday, Oct. 31
Game 5: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 (at highest remaining seed)
Game 6: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 (at highest remaining seed)
Championship - Saturday, Nov. 3
Game 7: Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 (at highest remaining seed)
The women are also poised for postseason action beginning this weekend. The Lions (8-10-1, 2-5 CAC) earned the #7 seed in the upcoming conference playoff tournament and will travel to take on Mary Washington, the tourney's #2 seed, on Saturday morning. The Blue & White last took on the Eagles on Oct. 17. Now, the team will be out to avenge that 2-0 regular-season loss.
