How It Happened

A big first half proved the difference in a 4-1 St. Mary's (Md.) victory over Penn State Harrisburg at SMC's Seahawk Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 20.

The home team made a statement early in the opening half of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest by scoring back-to-back goals in the span of little more than a minute before tacking on a third marker less than five minutes after the initial onslaught.

Brad Moore got the scoring started in the 16th minute, finishing off an assist from teammate Anoi Hindle before finding the back of the net for the second time just 1:10 later, this time off a helper from Khalid Balogun. With the Lions (14-3-2, 1-3-2 CAC) still reeling, the Seahawks (11-2-3, 4-1-1 CAC) added their third marker when Josh McRobie found Roshawn Panton with a cross in front of goal at the 23:09 mark.

The Blue & White stemmed the St. Mary's (Md.) tide momentarily when Joey Aman headed home a free kick by Dustin Rohrbach to get the visitors on the board late in the first half but Harrisburg was unable to mount any comeback of significance after the break.

Panton joined Moore in tallying a pair of goals on the day with a late-game marker that capped the contest's scoring in the 87th minute.

Inside the Numbers

- It was just the second time this season that Penn State Harrisburg has allowed more than one goal.

- St. Mary's (Md.) finished with a 17-7 edge in total shots and a 10-4 shots on goal advantage.

- Corner kicks were nearly even, with the Seahawks finishing with a slight 5-4 margin.

- With his score, Joey Aman increased his team-leading scoring total to 11 goals on the season.

- Dustin Rohrbach's helper was his second assist of the fall.

- Carlos Acosta made six saves in net for Penn State Harrisburg.

- St. Mary's (Md.) goalkeeper Patrick Paolini made three stops in earning the victory.
