Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team dealt with another tough opponent this afternoon at home. Harrisburg hosted York College in an important conference game but the men fell 2-1 to a very strong Spartan team.

So far this season the men have not been able to get a point in the win column in regards to conference play. Today, they showed they were ready to come out strong. For the first forty minutes of play, both teams were very evenly matched. With less than five minutes to go in the first half, Harrisburg was awarded a free kick thirty yards out from the goal. Sophomore Victor Weaver (Gap, Pa / Penn. Leadership Charter School) stepped up to take the kick. Victor placed a beautiful ball in the box that went over the hands of York's goal keeper. Freshman Ethan Hoover (Gap, Pa. / Pequea Valley) was waiting for the ball to drop at the far post. Hoover was right where he needed to be and easily placed the ball past the goal keeper and into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. 

At the beginning of the second half, the Spartans had several scoring opportunities. They were able to get their first goal of the game after Harrisburg's defense could not clear the ball out of the box. York went on to score a second goal in the sixty fifth minute of play.

 Penn State Harrisburg will look to come back strong this Saturday when they travel to Salisbury in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) match-up. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm.
