2015 CAC Golf Championship Preview

Seven teams will vie for 2015 CAC Men's Golf Championship this weekend, as the two-day tournament begins on Saturday, April 18 at James River Country Club in Newport News, Va.

The 2015 Championship marks the second straight year of a new era in CAC golf as seven squads will compete for the title. Five full CAC members – Christopher Newport, Marymount, Penn State Harrisburg, Wesley, and York – along with associate members New Jersey City and William Paterson – are set to tee off this weekend.

New Jersey City and William Paterson were added as associate members in 2014, beginning the process of the CAC being able to award an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which will occur for the first time ever at next year's championship.

Christopher Newport claimed the team title last year in its first year in the CAC, while another first-time competitor – Penn State Harrisburg – took second place in the team standings, edging out York.

The Captains will look to repeat on their home turf, as CNU will serve as the host for this year's event.
