Shank Finishes Third at Roanoke Invitational

The Penn State Harrisburg golf team had to settle tied for a sixth place finish at the Roanoke Invitational this past weekend.  Thankfully, Tyler Shank (Palmyra,Pa./Palmyra) gave the Blue and White something to smile about with his third place overall finish. 

Shank started the tournament off with a bang.  He shot a plus one 72 in the first round, putting him in the overall lead going into the second day of the tournament.  Shank was not able to stay at the top, but his 79 second round performance was still good enough to tie for an overall third place finish.  

Harrisburg also had solid performances from Tyler Serres (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) who shot an 80 on the first day and a 84 on the next, giving him a 26th place finish.  Jason Long (Rockhill Furnace, Pa./Southern Huntingdon County) who shot an 82 on the first day and a 83 on the second day earned him a 29th place finish.  

Bridgewater College took the first place finish overall from the team results of the tournament.  The top scorer of the tournament was Elijah Tackett from Bridgewater College who shot on the first day a 74, and a 73 on the next day.  

The Blue and White's next match is on April 8th at the LedgeRock Golf Club, Alvernia Spring Invitational.
