How It Happened

Following a competitive first half, Penn State Harrisburg turned it on after the break and left no doubt in an 86-67 victory over Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) foe Frostburg State at the Capital Union Building on Wednesday night, Feb. 6.

Kahlil Williams recorded his second consecutive double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Chris Bing racked up a game-high 18 points. Donyae Baylor-Carroll showed off his shooting prowess to the tune of 14 points and Zegary Scott III made it to double digits with 10 tallies.

The Lions (13-9, 5-6 CAC) held a four-point lead at the break but quickly pushed their advantage to double digits for the first time early in the second half when Baylor-Carroll converted three free throws to make it 44-32 with 17:19 left to play.

FSU (10-12, 6-5 CAC) kept at it and eventually closed to within seven following an Edwin Cole 3-pointer a few minutes later but a decisive run by the Blue & White midway through the half proved too much for the visitors to overcome.

Leading by 10 with 13:47 remaining, Penn State Harrisburg put together a game-altering 15-4 run over a span of 3:27 that began with a Bing one-handed jam off a pretty find from Scott and ending with Baylor-Carroll knocking down a corner trey off an assist from Keenan Wise that ballooned the advantage to 21 points.

The Bobcats grabbed their only lead of the night at 7-5 following a Terry Kenner 3-ball four minutes into the contest. The Lions quickly took control and used a 14-8 outburst to pull ahead 21-13 following an offensive rebound and putback by Williams at the 7:37 mark.

The visitors clawed back into it, drawing even at 23-23 with 3:51 left until halftime. From there, the teams traded buckets and kept things close heading into the locker room.

Inside the Numbers

- Penn State Harrisburg shot 47.5 percent from the floor, compared to just 33.3 percent shooting from the Bobcats.

- The Lions shot 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, while FSU managed to shoot just 18.8 percent from 3-point territory.

- The Blue & White won the rebounding battle 49-43.

- Harrisburg got to the line 32 times, converting 23 free throws.

- The Lions' netted 38 of their points in the paint.

- Penn State Harrisburg's bench outscoring Frostburg's reserves 30-11.

- Chris Bing scored a game-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists.

- Kahlil Williams posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. He also had two blocks.

- Donyae Baylor-Carroll netted 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and swiped three steals.

- Zegary Scott III added 10 points, four boards, three assists and a steal.

- Keenan Wise flirted with a double-double thanks to eight points and eight rebounds.

- Brandon Coleman finished with nine points, three boards and a pair of assists.

- Dylan Daniels had six points, five rebounds and two blocks in his first career start.

- Patrick Mulville provided a spark on defense, recording three steals to go along with four points.

- The Bobcats were led by Daniel Alexander's 18 points and 10 rebounds.
