  • Penn State Harrisburg To Hold Boys' Basketball Camp

    Harrisburg, PA- Penn State Harrisburg Men’s Basketball team will once again be holding their Boys’ Basketball Camp. The camp will take place from June 24th-27th for camps in 5th-12th grade. Each camper will have the option of Overnight, Full Day, or Partial Day.
  • Joyce Inspires Lions

    Penn State Harrisburg’s own Matt Joyce was interviewed by local news station Fox 43 discussing his admirable skill of being “the best waterboy in Pennsylvania”. Having graduated high school at Lower Dauphin, Matt wanted to follow his love for sports. Joyce is now most commonly found on the basketball court alongside the rest of the men’s basketball team, and even assisted the women’s soccer team.

    Harrisburg, Pa - Penn State Harrisburg wants to recognize its outstanding Student-Athletes who are excelling in the class room and on the field. This fall across all 17 of the Intercollegiate Teams, 68 Student-Athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, placing them on the Fall Deans List. Congratulation to the following Student-Athletes: 
  • Blue and White End Season with Two Strong Wins

    St. Mary’s City, MD – Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball finished their season in style with two double digit wins in the final week of play. The Lions did not hit all their goals this season, but with the majority of players returning, proved to themselves that the road ahead is looking much brighter. Harrisburg defeated the Seahawks 71-55 on Saturday February 17th.
  • Lions Dominate Saints in Final Home Game of Season

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball started their game on Wednesday February 14th with the knowledge their post season hopes had ended. The Lions did however have the chance to play spoiler to the Marymount Saints, who are currently in 7th place and hoping to stay in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) playoff hunt.
  • Bennett Scores 17 on Senior Day

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg could not overcome a strong second half surge by the Captains of Christopher Newport, falling on Senior Day. The Lions got excellent efforts from all three of its seniors, led by Tariq Bennett who score 17 points making three three-pointers. Austin Chimuma added six points and six rebounds. Finally Donte Vaughn played 20 minutes of excellent defense challenging Captains players up and down the court.

    Middletown, PA – 24 hours after the originally scheduled tip-off, Penn State Harrisburg Men’s Basketball nearly had a season defining moment Thursday throwing everything they had at #7 York. Foul trouble and stellar Free-Throw shooting by the Spartans would ultimately be the difference maker as the Lions fell short 64-75 in the teams first ever White-Out game supporting Penn State Harrisburg Benefiting THON.
  • Schedule Changes Due To Inclement Weather

    Harrisburg, Pa- Due to the Inclement Winter Weather the Men's and Women's Home Basketball games on February 7th against York College are canceled. These games will be rescheduled for Thursday at February 8th at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. We will participating in our White Out Cancer Game with all proceeds benefiting THON.

    Fredericksburg, VA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball team playoff hopes ended on Saturday February 3rd when they traveled to play the Mary Washington Eagles. Kahlill Williams scored 19 and Chris Bing had a 17-point night in the disappointing outcome for the Lions.

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball team faced off against the Frostburg State Bobcats on Wednesday January 31st.  Both teams battled hard and held leads throughout the game, but in the end, the Bobcats pulled away in the final minute for a 78-72 win.

    Buena Vista, VA – Penn State Harrisburg Men’s Basketball fell in its road contest matchup against Southern Virginia. Kahlil Williams and Chris Bing led the Lions in scoring with 13 each. Anthony Bennett Jr. add 12 points off the bench.
  • Bing Posts 18 Points and 11 Rebounds

    Dover, DE – Penn State Harrisburg’s Men’s Basketball fell in its conference matchup against Wesley College. The Lions were led by Chris Bing who scored 18 points while gathering in 11 rebounds. Kahlil Williams also had a good outing, scoring 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting.

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball team took on the Salisbury Seagulls on Saturday January 20th.  After an intense contest, the Seagulls kept their composure and made their free throws in the final minutes in order to stay in second place in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC).

    Arlington, VA - Penn State Harrisburg Men’s Basketball took to the road Wednesday to make a statement about the type of team they want to be. Getting off to a quick start, The Lions executed near perfectly on all ends of the court and only continued to build as the game went on. The Lions made that statement on the road Wednesday winning 74-57.
  • Freshman Duo Shine in Loss to Seahawks

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball team hosted the St. Mary’s Seahawks on Saturday January 13th for the fifth annual Orange for Owen game.  The Lions took the lead early starting the first eight minutes up 18-12, but St. Mary’s turned the tide from there and never looked back.
  • Bola Selected as Top Center in D3 Men's Basketball Poll

    Middletown, Pa. - Gholahan Alliyu (AKA Bola) was recently a candidate for the D3 Sports Network Top Center Poll. Bola received over 70% of the votes in a grouping of the best centers all over the country in Division III basketball.
  • Williams Posts 17 Points, 13 Rebounds

    York, PA – Penn State Harrisburg’s second half rally came up short against the #8 ranked York Spartans. The Lions would close within a point midway through the second half, but could not blemish the Spartans undefeated record. Kahlil Williams scored 17 points going 7-7 from the field and gather in 13 rebounds to lead the offense. Brandon Coleman added 15 points knocking down three three-pointers.

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg came up just short in its CAC match-up against Mary Washington despite having five players reach double figures offensively. Trent Thomas led the Lions scoring 15 points. Brandon Coleman added 11 points by going 3-4 from behind the three-point arc. Kahlil Williams, Tariq Bennett, and Chris Bing each contributed 10 points.

    Newport News, VA – Penn State Harrisburg’s Men’s Basketball could not hold on to a six-point halftime lead, falling on the road to Christopher Newport. Chris Bing led the Lions with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Battling some foul trouble, Kahlil Williams added 14 points as well.

After a very impressive start to his Junior season, his very large reach could go even further.     Reading, PA – Penn State Harrisburg used a strong first half to build a 15-point advantage over Kenyon College in route to the victory. Anthony Bennett Jr. led the Lions offensively, scoring 19 points and gathering in 6 rebounds. Bennett Jr. was name to the All-Tournament for his efforts. Brandon Coleman scored 17 points for the Lions while going 7-7 at the free throw line.

    Reading, PA – Penn State Harrisburg’s second half rally came up just short as the Lions fell in their first round match-up against Albright College in the Crowne Plaza Holiday Tournament. Kahlil Williams led the Lions with 25 points. Harrisburg also got 15 points from Brandon Coleman and 14 points from Anthony Bennett Jr. In his first career game, Chris Bing scored 10 points for the Lions.

    Elizabethtown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg could not hold off a strong second half push by the Blue Jays and fell by one point. The Lions got a strong effort for Freshman Anthony Bennett Jr. who scored 21 points in his first career start. Gbolahan Alliyu also contributed 11 points and 15 rebounds.

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball team continued to show flashes of brilliance against the 5-1 DeSales Bulldogs on Monday December 4th.  Unfortunately, their first half effort and shot percentage from the visitors allowed for too large of a lead to overcome, despite a very well fought second half from the Lions.

    Salisbury, MD – Penn State Harrisburg could not overcome a good Salisbury three-point attack falling by 16 points. The Lions got a strong effort from Anthony Bennett Jr. who scored 19 points. In first start, Brandon Coleman played well scoring 12 points.
  • Lions Have Four Players Reach Double Figures

    Frostburg, MD – Penn State Harrisburg could not recover from a 12 point halftime deficit despite four Lions reaching double figures in scoring. Trent Thomas led the Lions in scoring with 20 points while shooting 80% from behind the three-point line. Khalil Williams also had another good outing scoring 15 points while gathering 9 rebounds. Anthony Bennett Jr. and Gbolahan Nelson each added 12 points as well.
  • Nelson leads team with 17 in First CAC Victory

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Men’s Basketball rallied back from 22-point first half deficit to defeat CAC foe Southern Virginia. The Lions got an outstanding performance from Ibn-Haneef Nelson who scored 17 points. After some defensive adjustments, the Blue & White ended the first half on a 28-7 run to pull them within one going into halftime. The Lions would use that momentum to defeat the Knights. 
  • Alliyu Named CAC Player Of The Week

    Penn State Harrisburg junior center Gbolahan Alliyu was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 12.3 points, 15.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per contest in a 3-0 week for the Lions. Alliyu helped Penn State Harrisburg to a 3-0 start by defeating Haverford, Immaculata, and Mount Union and was named the MVP of the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off tournament. He posted double-doubles in both tournament wins, including an 18-point, 18-rebound, 8-block performance against Immaculata in the tournament opener. He shot 56.7% (17-for-30) from the floor for the week.
