-Both sides battled to hold on to the lead in the first ten minutes of the game before the Captains jumped out to an 11-8 lead with 11:56 to go. Ibn-Haneef Nelson put Harrisburg back on track with a three-point jump shot to tie the game up at 11. Kahlil Williams added two more to the Lion's lead with a layup with 8:41 to go
-With under seven minutes to go the Lion's pulled ahead for their largest lead of the day as Ryan Bollinger finished a three followed by a dunk by John Ukpaiama. Newport regrouped with a 10-0 run to lead the Lion's 26-21. Newport led at the half 30-23
-At the start of the second, Newport pulled ahead to extend their lead. Harrisburg fought back throughout the first eight minutes to tie the match up and pull ahead thanks to a jumper from Ryan Bollinger. Newport responded with two straight threes to take back the lead
-Newport finished the second half with an 11-0 run to lead Harrisburg 70-50 with 3:09 to go. The Lion's could not fight out of their second half slump and fell to the Captains 73-55
