Penn State Harrisburg Shuts Down New Rochelle for First Round of Tip-Off Tournament

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team fashioned an impressive come-from-behind victory on Saturday afternoon as they hosted New Rochelle for the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament. The Lion's edged New Rochelle 76-72 in the opening round of the tournament.

Game Highlights:

-The first half was back and forth both both squads after the visitors grabbed an early 9-2 lead in the first three minute of play. Jazmon Harris fought for 2 straight layups and a 3 pointer to tie the game up at 11 each.

-Khahlil White followed through just a few minutes later, sinking 2 three pointers to give Harrisburg their first lead of the day 21-17 with 7:57 to go. New Rochelle regained the lead heading into halftime 32-30

-Kahlil Williams came out strong in the second half, scoring two straight buckets to lead the visitors 37-35. New Rochelle responded with a three to take the lead back. Both teams battled back and forth for most of the second half with 3 lead changes

-With a little over 5 minutes to go, Harris and White each tallied a three to tie the game up 61-61

-The last two minutes proved to be very challenging for both teams as each committed several fouls to send their opponents to the line

-New Rochelle finished their final three pointer of the match with 57.4 seconds to go to bring the game within one of the Lion's

-Penn State Harrisburg held on to win 76-72
