Senior Spotlight: Anthony Morgan

Senior Spotlight: Anthony Morgan

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.-Anthony Morgan is a senior studying Political Science and International Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg. Morgan is a member of the men's basketball team along with the Greek fraternity Phi Kappa Sigma. When Morgan isn't playing on the court, he can be seen working out in the weight room, doing homework or playing video games like Fifa and NBA 2k.

Morgan cites his two high school coaches, Sam Sutton and Anthony Hall as his most influential people outside of family members. "They have been the biggest contributors towards my success on and off the court throughout high school and in college. They have taught me many life lessons and just used basketball as a tool to teach me lack of employment right out of college," said Morgan.

Morgan believes that lack of employment after college is a societal issue facing many college students today. "A lot of professions are dying and a 4 year degree no longer holds the same value as it once did before, so now students are force to study something outside their liking or spend more years in school obtaining a higher degree in order to land a job so that they're employed," said Morgan.

If Morgan had the chance to change anything in the world he would implement that same policy the NCAA has for football for basketball. Alike the NCAA's football policy, all college basketball players would be required to stay in school for a minimum of 3 years before being able to play for the NBA.

Morgan stated that his most memorable experience during his collegiate athletic career was seeing his teammate, Jaz Harris score the game winning basket against Salisbury University.

If Morgan had the chance to have dinner with anyone, he would choose between Bill Clinton to learn about his life as president and seek advice on how to climb the political ladder; Kanye West to see how cool and complex he is in person; and his late grandfather who passed away his freshman year of college.
