Harris Leads Harrisburg Over Washington

Middletown, Pa.- Friday December 11th, the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team hosted Washington College for their last non-conference match of the year. The Lions were coming off a big win on Wednesday night against ranked Salisbury. Harrisburg led at halftime and went onto to dominate the second half, winning 79-66. 

Junior guard Jazmon Harris (Baltimore, Md. / Patterson) gave Harrisburg the momentum right off the bat by hitting two straight three pointers at the start of the game. Just a few minutes later, Jourdon Wilson (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) sunk his first three of the day to give the Lions a 23-11 lead over the Shoremen. Washington fought back in the last few minutes of the half to lead Harrisburg by three. Freshman Kahlil Williams (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) did not let Washington lead for long before hitting a three and tying the game up at 33. Harris got the crowd back on their feet but hitting a buzzer beater to seal Harrisburg's lead going into halftime. 

As the second half got underway, both teams were battling back and forth for the lead. Harrisburg began to pull away as the second half progressed. Junior Winton Lyle (Washington D.C / The Bullis) pushed through two defenders to sink his first three pointer of the day. Lyle was fouled and went on to make both of his foul shots while also extending the Lions lead to 71-54. Harris led for the Lions with 16 points, he continues to be Harrisburg's lead scorer with an average of 14.4 points per game. Teammate Austin Chimuma (Bowie, Md. / Annapolis Area) was close behind with 11 points and six rebounds. 

Penn State Harrisburg will have some time off for the holiday's before their next game on Saturday January 2nd at York (Pa.). Tip-off is scheduled for 3 pm.
