Dutchmen Defeat Lions on Road

Annville, Pa - The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team held an early lead and battled throughout a scrappy game with the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Wednesday night November 19th.  Unfortunately, despite fighting hard throughout, the Lions were sent home with a 73-61 point loss.

Both teams were neck and neck throughout the first half. Harrisburg was within one point 27-26 with just two minutes left in the first half.  Lebanon Valley then finished the last few minutes on a 6-0 run and took a 33-26 lead heading into the locker rooms.

Harrisburg kept things tight thanks to two great leadership performances by junior Nick Seefeldt (Harrisburg, Pa. /Central Dauphin) and by junior Arick Sodini (Manalpan, N.J. / St. John Vianney).  Sodini is lighting up the court this year as he has scored double digits in the past three contest. Sodini scored an impressive 12 points with a total of 4 rebounds and 2 assist tonight.

Seefeldt bucketed a total of 10 points and grabbed 5 defensive rebounds while Caleb Barwin (Harrisburg, Pa / Bishop McDevitt) also had a thrilling performance with 11 points and two rebounds.

The Lions stormed into the second half by two monumental layups from Seefeldt and Sodini putting them down by just three.  Unfortunately, slowly the Dutchmen took wind out of the game during the second half. The Lions fought hard to make a comeback and on two occasions were within single digits with 11 minutes to go and again with two minutes left in the half.   The Lions were just not able to get over the 9 point deficit hurdle and finished the game with a score of 73-61 in favor of Lebanon Valley College. The aggressive Dutchmen out rebounded the Lions 38 to 28.

Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Albright College on Saturday afternoon Nov. 22nd at 3pm.
