Middletown, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg's Men's Basketball team is off to a good start to the season, they are 6-7 but have been very competitive in there games. They have had some great individual performances during the season Marquese Daniels (Philadelphia, Pa. / Philadelphia Electric & Technology Charter) made the all-tournament team in the Gettysburg tip-off tournament, Will Doyle (Franklin, Va. / Tidewater Academy) scored 40 points in a game earlier this season against Southern Vermont, and Kenny Stone (Philadelphia, Pa. / Scotland) scored 27 points the very next game.

But very quietly, the Lions most important player could be Joey Farthing (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield). The 20 year-old communications major has been used as the steadying force for the Lions, and his impact is not just measured by how many points he scores. He has been used to guard to opponents best perimeter player and is the Lions leading rebounder and shot blocker, a feat that is rare for a wing player.

Farthing's teammates realize how important he is, and they seem to deeply appreciate him for all that he does. "Joey is my guy, the things that he does for us really makes us go, the havoc he cause for teams on the defensive end is incredible," said senior Captain Kenny Stone. "His impact on our success is not predicated on him scoring, he's one of the only guys I've ever played with who can have a great game by just scoring eight points, because you know with that he'll have 5-6 rebounds, 2-3 steals and a couple blocks."

As the Lions head into the second half of their schedule, they will be looking for Farthing to continue his steady play and continue to help his team win games. His next opportunity to do that will be this Wednesday on the road against CAC foe Marymount at 8 p.m.
