YORK, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg senior guard WILL DOYLE (Franklin, Va./Tidewater Academy) and Mary Washington senior guard BRADLEY RIESTER (Richmond, Va./Monacan were chosen as the CAC Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Dec. 23, 2013.
His performance against Southern Vermont was not only a career high, but the highest single game point total scored by any Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball player. On top of setting the school record, he also gets to claim being the highest point scorer ever in Hood College's gymnasium. Seeing Doyle lead the Lions this year has been extremely exciting. The humble senior star does not play the game for his stats or accreditation, but instead builds up the team around him while stepping up offensively whenever he is needed.
The success Doyle and the team are having has not come easy. Doyle was in the gym all year long building up to his final season as Lion. All that off season work doubled up when new head Coach Don Friday got his chance to work the team out as a group in mid-October. The men had to fight through a tough first couple of practice weeks under his regime. Ask anyone on the squad now and they will tell you they believe it was worth it. Harrisburg is 2-1 in conference play and 5-5 overall this season.
Harrisburg gets going again Saturday January 4th when they host Salisbury for a 3:00 p.m. tip off at the Capital Union Building.
