Enjoy a round of golf while supporting local athletes and be automatically entered to play for a chance to win $1 million at the fourth annual Penn State Harrisburg Golf Tournament, sponsored by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, Ltd. and Nittany Village. To be held Sept. 27 at 8:00 a.m. at the Colonial Golf and Tennis Club, the fundraiser will support Penn State Harrisburg’s growing NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic program, which includes numerous participants from high schools in the midstate.

Register by Sep. 20 to interact with college athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators; enjoy a relaxing game of golf; and support the Penn State Harrisburg athletic department.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place for participants. Additional competitions include closest to the pin, long drive, straight drive, power drive, putting contest, and beat the pro.

The cost for individual golfers is $125, or $500 for a team of four. Non-golfers may attend lunch for $25.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, including tournament sponsors for $5,000; eagle sponsors for $3,000; and birdie sponsors for $2,000. These sponsorships receive year-round recognition on the athletics website, and in campus buildings and home competition sites. Additional sponsorships include par sponsors for $1,000; cart sponsors for $500; contest hole sponsors at $500; and hole sponsors for $100.

Through fundraising efforts, the college strives to expand facilities and support athletic programs that will provide more opportunities for student-athletes to reach the highest levels of individual and team achievement.

Penn State Harrisburg athletics fields 12 intercollegiate sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, soccer, and tennis; men’s baseball and golf; and women’s softball and volleyball. Beginning in fall 2013, the college will compete in the Capital Athletic Conference, which has produced hundreds of All-American athletes and 14 NCAA championship teams.
