Dennis Bailey is set to enter his 12th season as an assistant coach for Penn State Harrisburg baseball in 2023-24.

 

Bailey is a lifelong coach with experience at nearly every level of baseball, including high school, legion, and college. During his tenure as a Penn State Harrisburg assistant, the program has enjoyed unmatched success. The Lions have made five NCAA Division III Tournament appearances (2013, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), won four United East (formerly North Eastern Athletic Conference) Championships (2013, 2021, 2022, 2023) and appeared in pair of Capital Athletic Conference (now Coast-to-Coast Conference) Championship Series (2018, 2019) during his decade-plus with the program. Indivdually, Penn State Harrisburg players have racked up six all-America honors, three academic all-America accolades, three regional player of the year awards, 39 all-region honors, six conference major awards, four NCAA Statistical Championships, and 38 all-conference honors.

 

Bailey earned his degree in Earth Science from Penn State University in 1975. He played collegiately at Penn State New Kensington for two years and went on to play sandlot baseball for 30 years.

 

He currently resides in Middletown with his wife, Daphine. Their son Kevin, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, resides in Texas with his wife and two children. Their daughter Karen is an athletic trainer. She resides in New Hampshire with her husband and son.
