Baseball Up to No. 11, No. 12 in Latest National Rankings

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg continues to rise in each of the Division III national polls, climbing to No. 11 in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll and No. 12 in the most recent D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll.

 

Winners of 15 in a row, the Lions (34-7) rose three spots in the ABCA rankings and two places in the D3baseball.com poll from a week ago. Both marks in each poll are the highest rankings in program history. 

 

As a unit, the Lions rank top-10 in the nation in a number of statistical categories, including hits allowed per nine innings (7.43), ERA (3.16), win-loss percentage (.829), WHIP (1.26), shutouts (6), and walks (246).

 

Individually, four pitchers in Josh Berzonski (three times), Danny Eden (twice), Kyle Mahady (twice), and Fisher Druck have combined to earn eight United East Volt Division Pitcher of the Week honors, while Brendan Henn (three times) and Carlos Irizarry have combined for four United East Volt Division Player of the Week accolades this spring. 

 

Fresh off winning the United East Volt Division Title over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Keystone for the first game of the United East Championship Series beginning on Friday afternoon.
