Williams Earns Conference Weekly Honors

LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg's Bret Williams has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Baseball Player of the Week.

 

Williams helped lead the Lions (4-3) to a pair of victories last week, racking up 10 hits, including five of the extra-base variety. In a road win at Hood on Monday, the outfielder had three hits, including a double, with an RBI and a stolen base. At No. 22 Johns Hopkins two days later, the Mount Carmel, Pa. native hit his second home run of the season in the first inning. At N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon, Williams hit another homer and drove in a pair of runs. In a win over the Battling Bishops the next day, he hit two doubles, scored two runs, drove in one more and swiped a bag.

 

For the week, Williams slashed .526/.526/1.000 with an impressive OPS of 1.526 to go along with 19 total bases, five runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.

 

The Blue & White are back in action this evening when they take on Bethany (W.V.) in doubleheader action as part of the team's spring break slate in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
