Lions Come Up Short Against the Eagles

Penn State Harrisburg came up short when they traveled to Mary Washington for a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) double header. The Lions fell to the Eagles 15-1 and 9-2 on Sunday March 22nd.

In game one, the Lions ran into trouble with the Eagles starting pitcher who held the Blue and White to one hit while striking out 10 batters.  The Eagles had a different view from their side of the plate, recording six doubles and a homerun in the game.  Harrisburg was able to get a little offense in the top of the 9th when Tom Denniston (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) knocked in our only run of the game.

In game two, the Lions tried to right their wrongs from the first game. Shutting down the Eagles bats for the first three innings while scoring two in the top of the 3rd off of a Brendan Miller (Williamstown, Pa. / Williams Valley) and Bryan Balshy (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra) RBIs. Unfortunately the Eagles would not be quiet for long, scoring two, three, and four runs in the bottom of the 4th, 5th, and 7th inning to take game two 9-2 and claim the series win.

The Lions will travel to Diamond Nation in Farmington, New Jersey to take on Muhlenberg Monday March 23rd.
