Lions Caged by Cardinals

Myrtle Beach, SC. – Penn State Harrisburg was hit hard when they played the Catholic Cardinals on Wednesday March 11th in the 3rd straight day of baseball action at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The Lions came into the game looking to bounce back after the close Tuesday evening when they lost to Bridgewater 7-9.  Unfortunately the Blue and White failed to show the fire they had played with the previous evening.

The Lions allowed six runs in the bottom of the 2nd, but scored a run in the the top of the third and fourth to bring themselves back within four.  The Cardinals used an 11 run inning in the bottom of the 4th to put the game away early.  The Lions where able to find their bats in the top of the 8th inning scoring three runs caped off by a Tom Chaney (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) double that scored two. The Blue and White failed to string together any more runs in the top of the 9th and lost by a score of 19-5.

The Lion will finish their Spring Break trip to South Carolina Thursday March 12th when they face Mt. Aloysius in a double header starting at 9 a.m.
