Repetz Finishes On Top for Blue and White

Dickinson, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's cross country teams returned to action on Saturday when they traveled to Dickinson to participate in the 2016 Dickinson Long/Short Invitational.

Top Women's Finishers:

-Newcomer Veronica Repetz was the top finisher on the women's side with an impressive time of 16:25.5 for the women's 4000 meter race

-Senior Logan Akers was the second Harrisburg runner, crossing the finish line at 17:12.4

-Catherine Kaiser rounded out the top three as she posted a time of 17:53.2

-Senior Addison Lauver posted a time of 18:16.2

Head coach Danielle Lynch was very proud of the women's performances, "I am so proud of our women's team and their development this year. We are already at a historic level in terms of individual and team performances. With a fifth runner who is not 60m hurdler I am unsure what we can accomplish. Our women have come a long way and we are setting the standard for future years to come."

Top Men's Finishers:

-Freshman Scott Mundis was the top finisher for the Lions for the men's short course. Mundis finished the men's 4000 meters with an impressive time of 14:16.2

-Close behind was teammate Thomas Vennochi III who was only 1 second behind Mundi with a time of 14:17.9

-Senior Edgar Makimoto rounded out the top three behind Mundis and Vennochi as he posted a time of 14:48.2

-Sophomore Kadeem Willis was one slot behind as he crossed the finish line in a time of 14:53.9 

"Our men had a great showing and continue to tighten our pack of four, "said head coach Danielle Lynch. "As we bring our fifth man closer to the pack we are preparing to improve greatly in our upcoming meets through conference."

Both teams will travel to DeSales University of Saturday October 8th for the DeSales University Invitational
