How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg fell in CAC action to Frostburg State by a score of 3-1. The Lions got another excellent offense performance recording 16 kills and three blocks solo. The Lions defense was very active compiling 108 digs in the match including 35 digs by Kari Ammerman and 33 digs by Katelyn Hossler.

 

Despite trailing throughout most first set, the Lions kept battling back. Trailing 19-14, the Blue & White took advantage of several Bobcats to pull within one. The Bobcats would recaptured the advantage and led 24-21, but the Lions had an answer. The Lions would get a pair of kills from Brittany Wolf, to tie the game at 24. The Bobcats would make two straight attack errors allowing Harrisburg to capture the opening set.

 

The Lions would fall behind early in the second set due to a six-point run by the Bobcats. Trailing by 10, the Blue & White would get kills from Katelyn Hossler and Wolf to on a 6-1 run, pulling within five. The Lions would could not finish the rally losing the second set 25-18.

 

Harrisburg would take advantage of a few errors by the Bobcats and solid defense to take an 8-7 lead early in the third set. The Bobcats would rally going on a 6-1 in route to capturing the set 25-19.

 

After falling behind early in the fourth set, the Lions would consecutive kills from Brittany Wolf, Alexandra Kon, and Melanie Sheaffer to tie the set at 10. The teams would trade points for most of the fourth set, but the Bobcats would close out the match on an 7-1 run to take the fourth set 25-18.

- The Lions defense was strong winning the digs battle 108-90
