  • Women's Volleyball Team Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

    Lexington, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that 975 teams have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-2018 season including the Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Volleyball team. This number breaks the previous year's total of 835 to set an all-time high.
  • 68 Student-Athletes Make Fall Dean's List

    Harrisburg, Pa - Penn State Harrisburg wants to recognize its outstanding Student-Athletes who are excelling in the class room and on the field. This fall across all 17 of the Intercollegiate Teams, 68 Student-Athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, placing them on the Fall Deans List. Congratulation to the following Student-Athletes: 
  • Stump Records 28 Assists and 19 Digs In Final Collegiate Match
    October 28, 2017
    Harrisburg, Pa.- Casey Stump recorded 28 assists and 19 digs in her final collegiate performance to lead the Lions in their match up with CAC leader Christopher Newport. The Lions had a strong team defensive performance with Kerri Miller, Katelyn Hossler, and Stump all recording over 17 digs. The Lions would get a boost offensively from middle hitter Alexandra Kon, who recorded 8 kills. The Lions would use a collective team effort to take the opening set from the Captains 25-23. Christopher Newport would rally and down the Lions 3-1.  
  • Wolf Posts 9 Kills

    Harrisburg, Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg fell 3-0 in its match-up with CAC foe Mary Washington. The Lions got a strong offensive effort from Brittany Wolf who recorded 9 kills. Defensively, Katelyn Hossler had one of her best defensive games recording 12 digs. Finally Casey Stump continued her strong senior season, posting 19 assists and 9 digs. The Lions and Eagles battled in an exciting third set, seeing both teams have set point opportunities.  
  • Stump Records 36 Assists and 18 Digs in Win

    Harrisburg, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg got an inspired performance from Senior Casey Stump who posted 36 assists and her season high 18 digs. The Lions capitalized on her efforts defeating Lancaster Bible 3-1. The Blue & White got a strong offensive showing from Brittany Wolf and Rachel Licastro who combined recorded 21 kills. Kari Ammerman aided Stump on the defensive end recording 15 digs of her own.  
  • Tough Road Trip for Lions Ends Playoff Hopes

    Salisbury Md. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team faced off against the Salisbury Seagull's and Arcadia Knights on Saturday October 21st. The Lions started the day with a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest against the Seagulls needing a positive result to keep their playoff hopes alive. 
  • Ammerman, Talamo record 17 Digs
    October 20, 2017
    Harrisburg, Pa.- Kari Ammerman and Ester Talamo each record 17 digs during the Lions battle with CAC foe Wesley. Casey Stump would bolster the defensive effort with 9 digs of her own. She also added a season high 46 assists. Offensively, Harrisburg saw Brittany Wolf, Melanie Sheaffer, and Rachel Licastro all reach double digit kills. Despite the strong effort the Lions could not overcome the Wolverines attack, falling 3-1.
  • Wolf Records 12 Kills in Win

    Harrisburg, Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg got a 3-1 victory over Mount Aloysius thanks to a solid effort in all phases of the game. On the offensive end, the Lions got 12 kills from Brittany Wolf and 11 kills from Alexis Imler. On the defensive side of the ball, the Lions got 10 digs from both Katelyn Hossler and Ester Talmo. Casey Stump was a major contributor on both sides of the ball, recording 36 assists and 10 digs.
  • Stump Posts 34 Assists and 20 Digs in Tri-Match

    Buena Vista, VA – Penn State Harrisburg setter Casey Stump post 34 assists and 20 digs during the teams Tri-match against Southern Virginia and Bridgewater. Rachel Licastro posted 12 kills on the day to lead the offensive, while Kari Ammerman recorded 17 digs on the day. The Lions dropped both matches 3-0.
  • Ammerman Posts 19 Digs

    Frostburg, MD- Penn State Harrisburg had a strong defensive team effort in there game against Frostburg St. recording 65 digs. Kari Ammerman led the defensive effort, recording 19 digs. Melissa Bosco and Casey Stump chipped in with 10 and 8 digs respectively. The Lions offensive attack was headed by Melanie Sheaffer and Brittany Wolf who had a combined 15 kills. Despite the strong defensive effort, the Lions fell 3-0.
  • Stump Records a Double-Double on Senior Day

    Harrisburg Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg celebrated its lone senior Casey Stump before there match up with Susquehanna University. Stump recorded her fourth double-double of the season, posting 25 assists and 10 digs. Offensively Alexis Imler and Brittany Wolf each had 8 kills, while defensively Keri Ammerman would record 11 digs. As a team the Lions recorded 33 kills but were unable to overcome the Riverhawks attack falling 3-0. 
  • Lion down Seahawks; Pick up First CAC Win

    Harrisburg Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg took advantage of 13 service aces to defeat St. Mary’s College 3-1. Alexis Imler led the Lions offensive attack recording 11 kills, eight of which came in the fourth set. Defensively Kari Ammerman had a season high 18 digs to go along with 5 service aces. Senior Casey Stump posted a double-double, with 26 assists and 12 digs. Penn State Harrisburg improves to 1-2 in CAC play with the win.
  • Stump Becomes All-Time Service Aces Leader

    Harrisburg Pa.- Casey Stump became Penn State Harrisburg All-Time Service Ace leader with her third ace of the game in the third set. The Lions battled closely against the visiting Saints of Marymount University, tying each of the three sets at 16, but could close them out falling 3-0. The offense got a boost from Brittany Wolf who delivered 6 kills. Libero Kari Ammerman lead the Lions defensively with 10 digs.  
  • Licastro Records Career High 12 Kills

    Harrisburg Pa,- Rachel Licastro lead the Penn State Harrisburg offensive in their match up against Lebanon Valley recording a career high 12 kills. The Lions also got a strong performance from Senior Setter Casey Stump who recorded 37 assists, 9 digs, and 5 services aces. Defensively Kari Ammerman recorded 11 digs and Kerri Miller added 8 digs of her own. Despite the strong performance, the Lions fell 3-1.
  • Sheaffer Records 7 Kills

    Harrisburg Pa,- Penn State Harrisburg fell in its CAC opener to York College, despite a soild team effort. The Lions were once again led by senior setter Casey Stump, who recorded a double double with 17 assists and 10 digs. The Lions got offensive support from freshman Melanie Sheaffer who recorded a team high 7 kills. Melissa Bosco chipped in defensivly with 10 digs. The Lions held leads in each of the three sets, but could not over come the Spartans offensive attack, falling 3-0. 
  • Harrisburg overpowers Penn College

    Harrisburg Pa,- Penn State Harrisburg overpowered Penn College in route to a 3-0 victory. Senior Casey Stump played one of best collegiate games recording 24 assists, 8 service aces, and 6 digs. All of which were team highs. Six of her service aces came in the first set. Melanie Sheaffer lead the team in kills with 10 and had 3 service aces of her own. The Lions were able to get twelve players into the rotation, gaining valuable experience for the future.

    Federick, Md- Penn State Harrisburg fell 3-0 at Hood College. The Lions offense could not find its rythum despite 23 assists from setter Casey Stump. Melanie Sheaffer and Rachel Licastro each had 7 kills while Kari Ammerman recorded 9 digs for the Lions. 
  • Lion's Pick Up First Home Victory

    Harrisburg, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg picked up its first home win of the season, defeating Penn State Altoona 3-0. The Lions dominated play hold Altoona to just 22 kills in the whole match. Brittany Wolf lead the Lion's offensively with 7 Kills. Senior Casey Stump added 24 Assists. Kerri Ammerman anchored the Lion's defense, recording 18 digs.
  • Harrisburg Falls twice at Immaculata
    September 16, 2017
    Immaculata, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg dropped two highly contest non-conference contests to Immaculata University and Wilkes College. The Lions played well, forcing a fifth set in thier matchup with Wilkes eventually falling 20-18 in the set. Senior Setter Casey Stump recorded 77 assists on the day, while Brittany Wolf posted 23 kills.
  • Hossler, Sheaffer record double-doubles in win

    Reading Pa,- Penn State Harrisburg used a strong overall performance to defeat Albright College 3-1. Katelyn Hossler and Melanie Sheaffer each recorded double-doubles in the contest, with Hossler having 10 kills and 14 digs and Sheaffer having 10 Kills and 12 Digs. Casey Stump controled the offensive attack recording 40 Assists and 6 service aces. The Lions had three players record 10 or more kills and had five players record 9 or more digs.
  • Penn State Harrisburg drops home opener 3-1 to Elizabethtown college

    PSU Harrisburg started the match off with an impressive first set winning 26-24. The lion active defense was able to counter the attacks a Elizabethtowns high powered offense. Freshman Melanie Sheaffer lead the way on offense racking up kills with the help Casey Stump who posted double digit assists.
  • Penn State Harrisburg Top Pacers

    Penn State Harrisburg topped the Marywood Pacers 3 sets to 1 pushing their record to 4-1 on the season. It was a tightly contested matchup throughout with 2 of the 4 matches being decided by just 2 points. The Lions once again relied on a total team effort to overcome the Pacers. 
  • Lions Start Season Strong at Gettysburg Battlefield Classic

    The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team had two tough contest in their second day at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic. After a tough 3-0 defeat to a quality McDaniel side, the Lions finished the tournament with a win over Hood College and one player being named to the All-Tournament team.

    The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team is ready to show everyone in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) the difference one year can make. The Lions have been improving steadily the past few seasons and expect 2017 will be the year they show what they are capable of in the very competitive CAC conference.
