Wolf Shines in Season Opener

Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Hood College for their first game of the season where they fell in four sets, 3-1.

 In the first set, both the teams fought hard to the very end. As the set came down to the wire, Hood called a timeout with the score tied at 22. The Blue and White scored three straight points, including two aces by Rachale Hair (Newburg, Pa. / Big Spring) to take the set 25-22. After the first set, Hood would slowly take control of the match winning the next three sets: 14-25, 20-25, and 19-25 to take the game and the match 3-1.

Leading the way for the Lions were freshmen Brittany Wolf (Stewartstown, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) who had a team high in kills (19) and digs (15); while Casey Stump (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) was able to add 36 assists and 11 digs.

"I'm proud of the effort the team showed tonight." said Head Coach Angela Burkett, "We will continue to work on reducing our unforced errors and strengthening our communication."

The Lions will be in action next this Saturday, September 3rd, as the Lions host Cedar Crest and Albright in a tri-match starting at 10 A.M.
