Women's Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team hosted fellow CAC competitor Mary Washington this afternoon. The Nittany Lions were swept by the Eagles after three sets (25-11, 25-11, 25-7).

Senior Kiara Carter (New York, NY / Milton Hershey) led for Harrisburg with 5 kills. Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa. / Troy Area) and Casey Stump (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) also led the team with a combined total of 15 digs.

Although it was a difficult day for the volleyball team as a whole, Harrisburg celebrated its two Seniors Kiara Carter and Megan Sheaffer (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra). Head Coach Randy Hood had several things to say about the teammates, "My two Seniors, Kiara and Megan will be severely missed next year for their abilities, what they have added to the court, as well as their leadership both off and on the court. They are both very coachable and have set great examples for their teammates."

The women ended the season with an overall record of 9-17 and a record of 0-9 in conference play. The women improved immensely from last year where they only won one game throughout the season. Hopefully Penn State Harrisburg will come out even stronger next season.
