Penn State Harrisburg took on #4 ranked Christopher Newport this past Saturday. The Lions fell to the Captains in the end, 3-0.
The Lions came out hoping to bounce back after a tough loss to York College (Pa.) from this past Wednesday, but could not find an answer for the Captains all night. The Captains took the match in straight sets (25-12, 25-8, 25-13).
Leading the way for the Lions was Rachale Hair (Newburg, Pa. / Big Spring) with 6 kills on the day. The Lions also had strong performances from Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa / Troy Area) and Casey Stump (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) who helped the team in the back row as they tried to slow down the Captains fast paced offense.
The Lions will look for their first conference win of the year this upcoming Wednesday, October 21st, when they travel to Salisbury Md. to take on Salisbury University, set to start at 7 P.M.
