Penn State Harrisburg Fights But Falls Short

Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Arlington, Virginia To take on Marymount in their first conference game of the year. The Lions fell to the Saints 3 sets to 1.

The Lions came into the match looking for their first conference win of the year. Penn State Harrisburg came out strong and looking to surprise the Saints but fell in the first set 23-25. The Lions were not able to bounce back in the second set losing 25-17. Harrisburg was able to rebound in the third set winning 25-23 but the Saints finished strong and won the fourth set 25-15. 

Leading the way for the Lions was Melissa Orlandini (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) who had a double-double on the night with 12 kills and 13 digs. Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa. / Troy Area) led the team with 18 digs while Jill Elkins (Louisa, Va. / Louisa County)  chiped in with 12 digs while also getting four of the Lions seven aces.

The Lions will be in action next this upcoming Saturday when they travel to take on St. Mary's (Md.) starting at 12 P.M.
