Volleyball falls to Altoona

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg volleyball team hosted Penn State Altoona this evening in a difficult match that ended in a loss for the host team. The host team lost 3-1 after four sets.

After dropping their first two sets, 19-25 and 10-25, they dug in deep to bring home a win in set three. The Lions started down early but rallied their way back with tough consistent serves from defensive specialist Deesier Garcia (New York, NY/ Hospitality Management). Harrisburg went on to win this set 25-23. Sadly the ladies could not continue this flow into the fourth set and lost 8-25.

A strong offensive game from freshman Madison Chace (Paso Robles, Ca/ Cedar Cliff) and four-year senior Kiara Carter (New York, NY/ Milton Hersey) led the team with 8 kills each. While freshman Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa./ Troy Area) led the Lady Lions with 14 digs.

Penn State Harrisburg returns to play on Saturday September 19th. The Nittany Lions will play in a tri-match hosted by Kings College. They will face Gwynedd Mercy at 12 pm, followed by Kings College at 2 pm.
