Lehman Captures ECAC Championship

Baltimore, MD- Penn State Harrisburg Women's Track & Field team took 11th out of 28 teams at the ECAC Championships hosted by Johns Hopkins.  Sarah Lehman won the Triple Jump and took second in the Long jump. Rae Rae Taylor took second in the Heptathlon and Rachale Hair took seventh in the Discus Throw for the Lions.

Sarah Lehman continued her outstanding season, winning the ECAC Championship in the Triple Jump, traveling 11.96 Meters. This was Lehman best jump of the season and currently ranks her 6th in the Nation. She also posted a season best in the Long Jump where she leapt 5.72 Meters. Lehman took second at the championships and is now ranked 16th in the Nation.

Rae Rae Taylor took part in the Heptathlon made up of 7 events. Among the other Heptathlon participates, Taylor took first in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.96 Meters. This jump ranks Taylor 21st Nationally. Taylor took second in the Javelin Throw, Shot Put, 800 Meters, and 200 Meters. Taylor's combined score of 4348 Points was good enough for a second place finish. She now ranks 20th nationally in the event.

Rachale Hair was the only Lion to score, taking seventh in the Discus Throw with a toss of 34.27 Meters.

Lehman and Taylor will both now wait to see if they earn a berth into the NCAA championship on May 24th, 25th, and 26th in Spire, Ohio .
