Lions Win 4 Individual Championships

Salisbury, MD.- Penn State Harrisburg Men's and Women's Track & Field teams had very successful outing in the CAC Championships held at Salisbury University. The Men's team finished sixth with a team score of 56 Points. The Women's team scored 52 Points which earned them a seventh place finish. Rae Taylor, Sarah Lehman, and Jalil Clayton each won CAC Championships in various events. All together fifteen different Lions scored points in the championships.

Rae Rae Taylor got her championship off to a hot start on Friday afternoon, picking up the CAC championships in the Javelin Throw and Long Jump. In the Javelin Throw, Taylor launched the Javelin 35.94 Meters to pick up the victory. In the Long Jump, Taylor leapt 5.47 Meters to pick up the CAC Championship. On Saturday, Taylor continued her campaign taking sixth place in the High Jump, clearing 1.50 Meters. She would also take sixth place in the Triple Jump, traveling 10.51 Meters.

Sarah Lehman picked up a second place finish on Friday afternoon in the Long Jump, leaping 5.45 Meters. Lehman would then win a CAC Championship in the Triple Jump, traveling 11.56 Meters.

The Lions would score team points by finishing seventh in both the 4X100 Meter Relay and the 4X400 Meter Relay. The team of Veronica Repetz, Sephora Senestant, Taylor, and Lehman finished the 4X100 with a time of 54.73 and a time of 4:21.11 in the 4X400.

Rachale Hair and Alexis Imler took seventh and eighth in the Women's Javelin Throw. Hair toss the Javelin 31.88 Meters and Imler recorded a toss of 31.43 Meters. Hair would also score points in the Discus Throw, finishing eighth with a throw of 34.43 Meters.

Jalil Clayton captured a CAC Championship in the 400 Meter Hurdles, finishing with a time of 53.24. Clayton would then take third in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.80. Clayton would also score in the 200 Meters, finishing with a time of 25.64.

Alex White would pick up a third place finish in the High Jump clearing 1.97 Meters. White picked up a fifth place finish in the Long Jump, leaping 6.96 Meters.

Cameron Yon took second place in the Discus Throw with a toss of 50.28 Meters. He would then take fifth in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.74 Meters. Yon would also take eighth in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 41.01 Meters.

Harrisburg's 4X400 team of Jerome Jackson, Kevin Afoakwah, Kadeem Willis, and Mekal Kassu took seventh place with a time of 3:33.43. The Lions 4X100 Team made up of Uzoijie Ukattah, Josiah Owhe, Jacob Kaminski-Mainardi, and Clayton finished eighth in the with a time of 47.66.

Joseph Rebarchak picked up a second place finish in the Javelin Throw launching the Javelin 54.28 Meters. Jacob Kaminski-Mainardi took sixth in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 58.34. Rodeo Thompson would earn team points in the High Jump, finishing seventh after clearing 1.85 Meters.

The Men's and Women's Track & Field teams will return to action on Wednesday May 16th when they travel to John Hopkins to participate in the ECAC Championships.
