Ashley Williams Secures First Team Honors

YORK, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Ashley Williams secured first team honors in the 60-meter hurdles for the second straight year, breaking her own championship meet record. 

Frostburg State junior Kayla Truesdel, Mary Washington freshman Erin Andrewlevich, and Wesley head coach Stephen Kimes received top honors on the 2017 All-CAC Women's Indoor Track & Field team. 

Frostburg State's Truesdel collected Athlete of the Year honors, becoming the first Bobcat to win the award in the six-year history of the CAC indoor championships. Truesdel won the 200-meter dash for the second straight year and also took home top honors in the 60-meter dash after placing second last winter. Truesdel's 200 time broke her own championship meet mark that she originally set in 2016. 

UMW's Andrewlevich posted a trio of top-five placings on her way to Rookie of the Year accolades. She is the second UMW athlete to earn indoor Rookie of the Year, joining Rachel Lewis, who won the honor in 2015. Individually, Andrewlevich placed third in the 400 meters, fifth in the 200, and also anchored the runner-up 4x400 relay for the Eagles.

Kimes received his second women's indoor Coach of the Year award during his time at Wesley, with the other coming in 2014. Wesley finished in second place for the second straight year. 

Christopher Newport tallied its fourth consecutive indoor crown, making the Captains a perfect four-for-four at the indoor championship since joining the conference in the 2013-14 school year. Senior Logan Harrington led the way with three first team All-CAC awards. Harrington won the mile for the second straight year and the 800 for the third time in her career, while also anchoring the championship distance medley relay along with Abigail MayMonica Lennon, and Gena Lewis

Senior Briana Stewart shined in the 3,000 for CNU, setting a new championship meet record on her way to All-CAC first team honors. 

In the field events, CNU received All-CAC first team placings from sophomore Jessica Brownell in the pole vault, sophomore Hannah Bowden in the long jump, and junior Hannah Shoemaker in the shot put. Shoemaker also took second in the weight throw. 

Also making their way onto the All-CAC second team for the Captains were senior Emmie Schmitt in the 5,000 and senior Briana Sutton in the long jump. 

Wesley garnered 10 spots on the All-CAC squad, including multiple awards for sophomore Jourdyn Beverly, freshman Jasmine Brown, senior Dieunise Desir, and junior Angel Hall. Beverly earned first team honors in the weight throw and second team honors in the shot put, while Brown was a first-team recipient in the triple jump and landed on the second team in the high jump. Hall was a part of the winning 4x400 relay along with Briana ArtisElizsha StreeterQuadira Minus, and also secured a second team award in the 400. Desir claimed second team accolades in the 800 and anchored the silver-medal distance medley relay with Danae CarterCourtney Williams, and Chiquita Deline

Other second team honorees for the Wolverines included junior Ashley Morris in the 60 hurdles and freshman Lekeshia Brown-Myrick in the triple jump. 

York senior Kathleen Cannon collected a pair of all-conference awards, earning first team honors in the 5,000 and second team recognition in the 3,000. Sophomore Jess Delviscio was a second team all-star in the mile for the Spartans. 

Salisbury senior Meghan McGowan captured her third straight high jump title, posting the only CAC overall record of the championship meet. McGowan broke her own CAC record and also set a new championship meet mark. Sophomore Jamie Farley secured the other first team award for SU in the 400, while Kyleigh Dumas made her way onto the second team in the pole vault.
