Williams Breaks School Records at Susquehanna

Selinsgrove, Pa.- Last night the Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's indoor track team traveled to Susquehanna University to participate in the Indoor Orange and Maroon Classic. Several of Harrisburg's athletes broke school records and had personal bests.

On the women's side, Ashley Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area High School) came in first place in the women's 60 meter hurdles. Williams time unofficially ranks her 12th in the nation, 6th in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and first in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). Williams also qualified for CAC's in the long jump.  Fellow Lady Lion, Ashley Peart (West Orange, NJ / West Orange High School) placed first in the women's 800m and seventh in the women's long jump.

The men's team was just as successful as the women's team thanks to several strong individual performances. The relay team, consisting of Jalil Clayton (Chester, Pa. / Chester High School), Isaiah Waters (Montclair, NJ / Montclair High School),  Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, Pa. / Cherry Hill East High School), and Jalen Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) came in second while also qualifying for the ECAC Championship. Theophile also won the men's 400 meter. Freshman Jared Alpaugh (Wilminton, DE / Concord High School) placed second in the men's high jump.

Due to the weather, Harrisburg was unable to complete the triple jump, men's high jump and the 3,000 meter race. Up next on the schedule for Harrisburg is the Bison Open and Multi held by Bucknell University on Friday January 29th. The meet will also take place on Saturday January 30th
