Tennis Programs Earn ITA Academic Accolades

TEMPE, Ariz. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's tennis programs, as well as 14 individual players, were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic success during the 2020-21 campaign.

 

The men's and women's tennis teams each earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition for posting a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher during the most-recent academic year. The women's squad recorded a 3.74 team GPA, while the men accumulated a 3.30 combined GPA. For the women, it is the program's seventh consecutive ITA All-Academic Team honor, while the most-recent accolade is the second in a row for the men.

 

Individually, women's players Mary Connolly, Vaishnavi Datta, Olivia Hitz, Rachael Lim, Emma Moran, Sydney Nye, Annalisa Petrascu, Isabella Pizzelanti, and Gabrielle Sabatose earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, as did men's players Mohammed Azlmat, Neel Bhalja, Casey Detwiler, Alex Rohn, and Nick Rohn. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner and hold a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year.
