Harrisburg Breaks Streak wth Win over Frostburg State

Middletown, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg broke their losing streak when they beat CAC conference foe Frostburg State on Monday April 6th with a match score of 7-2.

In doubles action, the Lady Lions swept Frostburg State. The Bobcats fought hard in all three matches, taking one of them to a tie-breaker match. Harrisburg's top doubles pairing of Jessica Miller (Manheim, PA / Manheim Central) and Shawna Brandt (Jonestown, PA / Northern Lebanon) helped the Blue and White by winning their match by the score of 9-7.

In singles, the Lady Lions took four out of the six singles matches on the day. Miller continued her strong outing by winning her singles match over Frostburg State's Kayla Kirk in three sets by the score of 1-6, 6-3, and 6-2. Aiba Diaby (Bladensburg, MD / Bladensburg), Skylar Buschinski (Hanover, PA / Southwestern), and Fay Ansary (Hummelstown, Pa / Hershey) all contributed by winning their respective matches. With this victory, the Lady Lions improves to 3-9 on the season.

After claiming their first conference win of the season, the Lady Lions will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Southern Virginia on Saturday April 11th for their match starting at 2pm.
