How It Happened
Penn State Harrisburg improved to 3-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play when they powered past Penn State Abington 8-1. Eight different Lions players found the back of the net for Harrisburg including four players scoring their first goal of the season. Kristen Stark goal in the 17th minute made her the programs all-time leader in points and Stark also is tied for the program record in goals scored with 35 goals.
The Lions offense got off to a fast start when Haley Vavrek opened the scoring in the 5th minute, netting her first goal of the season. Moments later, Elizabeth Clippinger increased the Lions advantage scoring her second goal of the season.
With Abington's defense off balance, the Lions pushed the attack allowing Rhyan Socash to score her third goal of the season in the 14th minute, putting Harrisburg ahead 3-0. Three minutes later Kristen Stark added another mark to her historical career, scoring her 35th career goal, becoming the programs all-time points' leader in the process.
In the 26th minute Megan Carver ripped a shot on goal and Eden Haldeman capitalized on the rebound to put Harrisburg ahead 5-0. Mackenize Haladay would close the scoring in the first half as the senior found the back of the net for the first time this season.
Abington's Taylor Perkowski would score Abington's first goal in the 48th minute. Harrisburg would answer back when Jenna Alaoui rocketed a shot from 20 yards out, into the back of the net making the score 7-1. Ariana Casey would find an open Hollie Holthaus in the box for her third goal of the season, giving Harrisburg an 8-1 advantage.

Who's Next?
The Lions will take on NEAC foe Gallaudet University at Nittany Soccer Field at 2:00 p.m. At halftime Penn State Harrisburg will honor Cameron Yon for his NCAA National Championship in the discus throw this past spring.
