FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to their stellar efforts on the field this season, Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer players Mackenzie Haladay, Madison Hemler and Kaeleigh Smedley have earned all-conference recognition from the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC).  

Haladay, Hemler and Smedley were each named to the 2018 CAC All-Conference Second Team after leading the Lions to a postseason berth this fall. 

For Haladay, it is the first all-conference honor of her career. The defender was one of the leaders on the team's back line this season, helping guide the Blue & White to six shutout performances on the year. The junior also added three goals, including the game-winning marker in a victory over Eastern in mid-September. 

Hemler's most recent accolade is the second of her career after earning a second-team honor following the 2017 season. The junior finished the year tied with Smedley for most assists among Harrisburg players with four. The midfielder also ranked second among Lions in total points (12) and goals (4) this fall. She also netted the game-winning score in an early-season win over Lancaster Bible. 

Smedley was outstanding during her rookie campaign, picking up the first all-conference nod of her young career in the process. The shifty midfielder did a little bit of everything for the Lions, leading the team with 14 total points, five goals and four assists as a freshman. She also racked up four game-winning markers to lead all Blue & White players this fall.  

Christopher Newport's Gabby Gillis was named the CAC Player of the Year, while Mary Washington's Gracie Williams earned CAC Rookie of the Year honors. UMW's Corey Hewson was named the CAC Coach of the Year by his peers.
