How It Happened

The Penn State Harrisburg Women's Soccer team battled York College holding them scoreless for 88 minutes before the Spartans manufactured a goal.

The Lions had several scoring opportunities in the first half. In the 18th minute, Kaeleigh Smedley served a corner kick in the box finding Madison Hemler. Hemler would head the ball off the crossbar, but could not give the Lions the lead.

The Blue & White struggled to get consistent offensive pressure in the second half, but managed to keep the speedy Spartan attack at bay. After falling behind by a goal with only two minutes remaining, Harrisburg would push numbers forward. The Lions would earn a free kick and push nine players into the box hoping to find an equalizer. They were not able to connect and York scored on the counter attack, putting the game out of reach.

Inside the Numbers

- Harrisburg Goal Keeper Kayla Arnold recorded a game high nine saves
