How It Happened

The Penn State Harrisburg Women's Soccer team used two goals from both Kaeleigh Smedley and Rominia Dichio to rally and defeat Fisher College.

After falling behind when the Falcons scored off a thrown in, in the 20th minute, the Lions would take control of the game in the final ten minutes of the half. Alyssa Klinger would find Romina Dichio in the box in the 35th minute, and Dichio would bury the shot to tie the game. Kaeleigh Smedley would give the Lions the lead, when she ripped a shot from well outside the box that slipped under the cross bar. Moments later, Smedley would add a second goal off a free kick from just outside the box.

The Falcons would cut the lead back to one in the 50th minute, keeping pressure on the Lions. The weather played a factor in the second half, with high temperatures and humidity slowing the pace of the game and forcing a water break. Harrisburg finally put the game away when Dichio lofted a ball over the Falcons goalie in the 83rd minute.
