Lady Lions Earn First CAC Playoff Birth

Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team finished their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) regular season on Wednesday October 25th at home with a 2-0 loss to Mary Washington. Fortunately for the Lions, their four wins in CAC play was just enough to earn the sixth place seed in the conference playoffs.

Harrisburg will travel to Salisbury University on Saturday October 28th for a 2:00 pm kickoff.  The Lions have already made this trip earlier in the season where they battled well, but fell 2-0.   This season the Blue and White have played great, fair, and sometimes not as well, but are capable of beating any team in the CAC when playing their best.  The trip to the playoffs is the first for a Penn State Harrisburg women's team since the school joined the CAC in 2013.  It has been a steady incline for Harrisburg, the Lions finished 9th in 2013 and 2014, 7th in 2015 and 2016, and 6th in 2017.

The Seagulls stuggled early in the season, but found their stride in conference play finishing with a recod of 7-2.  Both teams match up well and it should be a very physical and fast game.  Saturday's winner will travel to face the two seed Frostburg St. on Wednesday Nobember 1st.
