Penn State Harrisburg Dominates in Second Conference Game

Middletown, Pa.- It was a great day for the Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team. The Nittany Lions took on Wesley this afternoon at home and went on to win 5-1. The women had goals from several different players.

Sophomore Erica Hile (Ickesburg, Pa. / West Perry) started it up for the Lions in the thirteenth minute of play. Hile dribbled past several defenders to set herself up for a beautiful shot inside the penalty box. She easily slid it past Wesley's goal keeper. She was closely followed by teammate Fay Ansary (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey High School) who also fought past several defenders to get into the box thanks to an assist from Kristen Stark (Lancaster, Pa. / Donegal)

The second half was just as exciting for the Nittany Lions. Defender Kristen Peckman (Chambersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) took a shot only a few steps in from center field. The ball soared right over the goalkeeper and into the upper ninety, making the score 3-0 for the home team. Junior Alyssa Crowley (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) would go on to score the fourth goal for the Lions. Ansary had her second goal of the day in the last twelve minutes of play. When asked about the game, Ansary had several positive things to say "Our first CAC win sets us up to have confidence going into our future conference games. This win today was a team effort but there were also great individual efforts. We are really excited to take on St. Mary's this coming weekend."

The women will play their third conference game of the year on Saturday October 3rd when they travel to St. Mary's. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
