Well balanced team effort earns lions another win on the road.

The Penn State Women's soccer team traveled to nearby conference foe Wilson College Phoenix Wednesday afternoon where a solid team effort brought about an equally solid 7-1 win.

The lion women did most of their damage in the first half where they scored six of their seven goals on the day.  Ashley Pittman (Redmond, Wash. / Bear Creek) got the day started with a great header goal that gave the Phoenix keeper no chance as she scored her second goal in three games.  Lyndsay Naughton (Reading, Pa / Reading Central Catholic), Lauren Ertl (Wildwood, N.J. / Williamstown), and Michelle Milicci (Mount Joy, Pa. / Elizabethtown) all added a goal apiece.  Ertl and "Miche's" scores were their first of the season.  Rachel Shetler (Peqliea, Pa. / Penn Manor) started to show her offensive presence as she made some quality attacking runs from center midfield which helped her grab a two goal game today.

The second half started well for the lions as the showed poise to work on keeping the ball and passing from sideline to sideline.  Wilson did show some nice heart as they never gave up and got a goal of their own not allowing the shut out the lions were working towards.  Fay Ansary (Hummelstown, Pa / Hershey) scored the blue and whites only second half goal and put the final tally at 7-1.

"The girls have been getting better every game in one area or another and today the central midfield did a nice job getting the ball from our backs and switching fields." Clay continued with, "We still need to find the desire and drive to play a full 90 minutes at the highest level.  We are going to have to do this when we face off against undefeated Penn State Berks Saturday if we want to come out with a win."
