Harrisburg. Pa – Penn State Harrisburg Athletic Director Rashaan Carlton and Head Women's Basketball Coach Ross Patrick have released the 2017-18 schedule, set to tip off the regular season on November 15 at Carin University.
The Lions are coming off a 7-18 Season that saw the Lions pick up a huge road win over #7 Mary Washington. The Lions would finish 5-13 in conference play picking up wins over Southern Virginia, St. Mary's, Wesley, and Mary Washington. The Lions are returning seven players from last year's roster including Tessa Dolce who was the team's second leading scorer.
After traveling to Carin, the Lions will play in the Gwynedd Mercy Tournament on November 18th and 19th where they will play Gwynedd Mercy in first round action.
The Lions will then immediately drive into conference play hosting Wesley in its home opener on Tuesday November 21st and host Southern Virginia on Saturday November 25th.
After road games with CAC foes Frostburg St. and Salisbury, the Lions will return home to challenge Delaware Valley in a nonconference match up on Tuesday December 5th. . Harrisburg will travel to face Lancaster Bible (Dec 7), Clarks Summit (Dec 18), and Alvernia (Dec 19) before Winter Break.
In the new year, Harrisburg will travel to face Christopher Newport (Jan 3) before returning home to face Mary Washington (Jan 6). The Lions will get visits from St. Mary's (Jan 13), Salisbury (Jan 20) and Frostburg St. (Jan 31) during the month.
Finally the Lions will close out the regular season playing 3 of their final 4 games at home facing York College (Feb 7), Christopher Newport (Feb 10) and Marymount (Feb 14)
The conference tournament will begin with the first round on February 21st, followed by the semifinals and championship on the 23th and 25th. The tournament will be played at the site of the higher seed remaining.
